Additives and mediums for acrylic painting
Mixing ratio: Start with small amounts (10-20%) and increase as needed.
Drying time: Retarders and slow-dry mediums extend open time; use sparingly to avoid tackiness.
Layering: Fat over lean applies to acrylics too. Thicker/richer layers go on top.
Varnishing: Wait 1-2 weeks after painting. Apply isolation coat first, then removable varnish.
