- Popping or crackling sounds during extrusion
- Rough or bubbly surface finish
- Weak layer adhesion / brittle prints
- Excessive stringing or oozing
- Steam or smoke from the nozzle
- Inconsistent extrusion width
- Discoloration or cloudy filament
- Store filament in airtight containers or vacuum bags with desiccant packets.
- Keep silica gel beads recharged -- bake at 120℃ for 2 hours to reuse.
- Use a hygrometer inside your storage box; aim for <15% relative humidity.
- Print directly from a dry box if possible to avoid re-absorption.
- Nylon and PVA are extremely hygroscopic -- dry immediately before every use.
- Even PLA absorbs moisture over weeks; dry if stored unsealed for more than a month.
