Engagement Rate by Follower Count and Reactions per Post
Produced by the calculator above, with reactions counted per post — likes, comments and shares added together. Find your follower count on the left and the reactions a typical post gets across the top. The point of the table is the diagonal: the same number of reactions is an excellent rate on a small account and a poor one on a large account, which is why raw like counts say almost nothing on their own.

Frequently asked questions
How is the engagement rate calculated here?
Likes, comments and shares are added together, divided by the number of posts to get an average per post, then divided by your follower count and multiplied by 100. Dividing by posts first is what makes the result comparable between an account that published five times and one that published fifty.
Why does the same rate score differently on each platform?
The thresholds differ. This tool marks a rate poor below 1% on Instagram and LinkedIn, below 0.5% on Twitter and Facebook, and below 3% on TikTok. A 2% rate is therefore average on Instagram but poor on TikTok, because TikTok's feed shows posts to people who do not follow you and lifts the numbers.
Should I count views or impressions instead of followers?
This calculator uses followers, which is the reach-independent version of the metric. Dividing by views instead answers a different question β how well a single post held the people it reached β and gives a much lower number. Pick one and stay with it, because the two are not comparable.
Does saving or bookmarking a post count?
Only if you add it yourself into the shares field. The calculator takes exactly three inputs β likes, comments and shares β so saves, profile visits and link clicks are outside it. Platforms that report saves separately will show a higher rate in their own dashboard than this tool does.
