Filters are a matter of taste. Every line has the same top-prize chance: 1 in 8,060,598. Narrowing the filters only reduces how many lines you can pick from.

Tax
UK government guidance lists "premium bond or National Lottery wins" among the income you do not pay tax on (gov.uk/income-tax, read 12 Oct 2026). Interest or other income the money earns later is taxed separately.
A free Thunderball number generator and results checker for the UK National Lottery game. Thunderball is drawn four times a week — Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday — and, unlike Lotto or EuroMillions, every prize is a fixed amount: £500,000 for five main numbers plus the Thunderball, down to £3 for the Thunderball alone. Because the prizes do not change, this page can tell you exactly what any line would have paid in every stored draw, and the exact average return of a £1 line. Results and the number of winners in each tier come from the operator's draw history and draw-details pages.
Why the Thunderball alone pays
The Thunderball is drawn from a separate pool of 14 balls, so matching it is far easier than matching main numbers. That is why the bottom tier — no main numbers, just the Thunderball — has the most winners in almost every draw, as the winners column in the result tab shows.
What "average return" means here
Multiply each prize by its probability and add the tiers up. With fixed prizes the result is exact rather than an estimate: it is the long-run average a £1 line pays back. It is less than the £1 price, which is the case for every lottery — the difference funds good causes, duty and the operator.

Why past results do not help
Every draw uses the full sets of balls again, so each draw is independent of every draw before it. A number that came up ten times last month has exactly the same chance next draw as one that never came up. No generator, including this one, can improve your odds. This tool picks numbers at random and nothing more.

Frequently asked questions
What are the odds of winning the Thunderball top prize?
One in 8,060,598. Five main numbers from 39 give 575,757 combinations and the Thunderball adds 14 more choices, so 575,757 × 14 = 8,060,598. The figure is worked out from the game format on this page.
Is the £500,000 Thunderball prize shared between winners?
The operator lists £500,000 as the top prize and every Thunderball tier as a fixed amount, so each winning line is paid that amount. The operator's pages add that in exceptional circumstances certain prizes may be less than stated; draws where a published amount differs from the fixed table are not used on this page.
Do I pay tax on a Thunderball win?
Not on the prize itself. UK government guidance lists National Lottery wins among income you do not pay tax on. Interest the money earns afterwards is taxed in the normal way.
Does picking numbers that came up recently help?
No. Every draw uses the full sets of balls again, so each draw is independent. The statistics tab records the past and says nothing about the next draw.
Where the numbers come from. Fixed prizes as published on the operator's prize breakdowns: Match 5 + Thunderball £500,000, Match 5 £5,000, Match 4 + Thunderball £250, Match 4 £100, Match 3 + Thunderball £20, Match 3 £10, Match 2 + Thunderball £10, Match 1 + Thunderball £5, Match 0 + Thunderball £3. The odds are worked out from the format; we have not read them off an operator odds page.
